When my Brother and I were in our teens Horses were part of our life.  We had need for Horse Equipment.

My brother was a roper and also participated in riding horses at the National Western Stock show that was held each year in January in Denver.  The whole family attended but Fred was in one or two events.  I thought back then it was funny to see my brother riding an English Saddle at a Western Stock Show.  He walked away with several Ribbons.

He on the other hand limited my involvement with horses to having one at the High School I attended here in Arizona.  I was assigned a horse and I was to take charge of caring for him which meant I had to groom him every day, and make sure he was feed.   Not really that bad a chore.

While I never entered a riding event any where, I did know how to ride both a Western Saddle and an English one as well.

It’s not that big a deal if you at least have a little co-ordination.

I have moments that I think there have been so many things that I should have tried  over the year including looking at  metal detectors garrett.

My home state of Colorado would have been a great place to have such a device and living as close to the Rocky Mountains as I did, I would have been able to spend every other weekend exploring to my heart’s content.

Now that I start bring back memories, I worked on the weekends, so spending weekends in the Rockies would have been limited.

October, November and December are a happy time of the year.  There are so many happy family things to do.  And do much good stuff to eat.

One way to show your friends what kind of person you are, if they don’t live in the same area, or even if they do, make plans for holiday cookie delivery, to your friends.

I know I for one would put any friend to sent me goodies this time of the year up to the top of my list of friends.

Bet you would too.

Soon there might be Snow.

Got an email this morning from a friend in Chicago who said that it’s starting to get cold back there.  First thing that came to my was growing up in Denver and when it use to snow this time of year.

Also thought it’s a good time to purchase redfeather snowshoes for any real adventures out in the Rocky Mountains.  That’s where the real fun is away from the city.

I like to drive up to Pine Colorado this time of year and spend time up there at the  ranch my Dad was a part owner of.  Unfortunately, don’t have any pictures of days there when there was snow on the grown.  There are several in my head but haven’t figures a way to download them.
