While Karen and I like going out to the movies we have no problem staying here at home and enjoying discount movies on our 16.9 HD Screen.

Just after she and I were married in 1999 we sold the 52 inch rear projection TV that  I had  replacing it with a 27 inch 4.3 set.  We held on to it until maybe 5 years ago when we replaced it with a 16.9 set that we can watch HD shows on.

This month in the Newsletter from the State Amateur Radio Section Manager,  Tom Fagan, he suggested that we build some amateur gear and what a better place to use a sheet metal hole punch .

It would be helpful when make holes for antenna connectors  in the chassis for transmitters and/or receivers.

I have never built anything from scratch, did build several radio kits back in the days when HeathKit was up and running.

Broadcaster.

Throughout the 30 or so years I was a broadcaster, the name Peavey came up numerous times.  And I got to know their audio mixers.

As a “broadcaster” it seems that everyone thinks that you know all there is to know about any type of electronic equipment, know how to install it, and know how to operate and run it.  In my case, some of that is true.

Give me a manual, 20 minutes, and 9 times out of 10 I can operate anything.

I noticed on the Internet, that Peavey has introduced the peavey cirrus .  I think it might take me more that the magical manual and 20 minutes to sound good with it.

It wasn’t until shortly before I moved to this house that I had access to the internet.  My first computer is long gone, but it worked well for me the 4 or 5 years I had it.

Other than maybe once ever other day going on line to AOL, and doing my accounting, I didn’t spend that much time using the computer.  Not that I do these days, but it’s more than back then.

I like the Internet as it opens up so much that wasn’t available back then.  You can even find cigar auction sites .

I go on line at least once a day, still do my personal and small business accounting, check my facebook account, and follow the latest in Amateur Radio.

There in the Back Yard.

A new small pergolas would fit so well in our back yard.  The one we have now was there when I moved in back in 1997, 1998.  I really have no idea how long it was there before I moved in.  I just assumed that the people who owned the house before I did, had it put in but I never asked.

I suppose I should have, but didn’t and the Arizona Sun has taken it’s toll on it and a new one would fit in so well.

Not that I know of.

Been lucky most of my life there has been nothing that I can’t eat.

Although it would be a good idea  to check for allergies using the services of  Austin allergist

Several of my friends over the years have found out the hard way that they were allergic to such things as shell fish, and they ended up in ER.

High School

I attended a High School that was on a working ranch here in Arizona.

I had an interest in electronics back then and quickly learned all I could about AC and was the only student that helped when something related to the AC wiring broke down.

There was a shop located off what was called the “Barn Yard” and I don’t know how many times I came in when welding was going on.  While it was interesting to watch I didn’t as I wasn’t wearing one of those

miller welding helmets .

You would have thought I would have asked to learning welding, but for whatever reason, I didn’t.
