Get Away !

Once again the Sunshine Capital of the world, the Metro Phoenix Area is covered with Clouds and rain has been coming down.
Wife Karen and I did attend Church, and did go out for lunch and we were lucky, we missed the rain. But coming home for lunch, we had to drive trough it to get from Tempe to Scottsdale and home.
Although I like to be home and look out and see the rain, these are also days when I would like to be out on the Open Road cruising down the American Highway. I remember the days when my Dad would pack us all up in the 1949 NASH with it’s fold down front seats that made into a bed and we would do just that, cruse down the American Highway.
Now I wouldn’t do it unless I had breakdown service just a cell phone call away. Also I would make sure I had an Amateur Radio handy if I just happened to be out of the cellular service area.

In the home in Denver that I grew up in, we had a fireplace in our living-room and it was there each Christmas that we hung our Christmas stockings.
Some where I have a picture of that fireplace with the Christmas Stockings and all the other trimmings that were the family tradition. I will have to do some searching first on my computer because I have loaded most of my family pictures on to my computer and if I don[‘t find them, go looking through the original pictures that are in a closet in my office in a steel box made to hold several hundred 35 MM slides.
More thoughts
I have moments that I think there have been so many things that I should have tried over the year including looking at metal detectors garrett.
My home state of Colorado would have been a great place to have such a device and living as close to the Rocky Mountains as I did, I would have been able to spend every other weekend exploring to my heart’s content.
Now that I start bring back memories, I worked on the weekends, so spending weekends in the Rockies would have been limited.
Soon there might be Snow.
Got an email this morning from a friend in Chicago who said that it’s starting to get cold back there. First thing that came to my was growing up in Denver and when it use to snow this time of year.
Also thought it’s a good time to purchase redfeather snowshoes for any real adventures out in the Rocky Mountains. That’s where the real fun is away from the city.
I like to drive up to Pine Colorado this time of year and spend time up there at the ranch my Dad was a part owner of. Unfortunately, don’t have any pictures of days there when there was snow on the grown. There are several in my head but haven’t figures a way to download them.
My Businesses.
Over the years, I have owned and operated several businesses in different fields and found that using using conference calls for business helped a great deal.
It didn’t matter if I was selling two-way radios, or cell phones or renting wheelchair vans or providing audio and video production, being able to use the office phone and talk with prospective clients seem to put my capabilities where the client could immediately know, I knew what I was talking about.
It was fun back in Camp.
I remember that I enjoyed Archery when I attended Cheley Colorado Camps up in Estes Park, Colorado.
Since then I have met several hunters who don’t use Guns, but have some of the best looking archery supplies you can imagine.
While at Cheley I was limited to the Archery Range there in the Rocky Mountains, but we were told about how the bow and arrows could be use while hunting.
There in my Desk Drawer.
I was looking through the drawers in my desk yesterday, and found several Christmas Cards from my grand pa and grand ma back in 1962.
In those days I was attending the University of Denver and taking Business Administration and Radio TV and at the same time working on a radio station. If my memory serves me correctly I had just gone from my very first broadcasting job to my second, let go because I didn’t have a required FCC license and the first station I was with needed an engineer as well as a DJ.
I know it was too long before I mad another job change to the number one rock station in Denver, KIMN . Even with the changes in job, I stayed at DU.
The Great Outdoors
Growing up in Colorado as I did, I spent much time in the Rocky Mountains.
To be honest, I was a city boy, at least I enjoyed living in the Mile High City of Denver. I was learning how to operate audio boards, ripping and reading news copy, didn’t have time to do that and head off to the mountains too.
That might have changed if there were more off road vehicles back in those days. I know they were just starting to build them but not to the extent that they do today. And today it’s easy to find Polaris Accessories that it makes it easy to add things to your ATV.
No Question.
There is no question that I would look for rv insurance quotes if Karen and I were looking at an RV.
Back before I purchased my first car in 1961, I don’t know how many times my father told me about the importance of insurance for the family cars. So when that time came that I went out and purchased a car, I had all ready spoken to an insurance agent about insurance.
Sure made things easy at the dealership. With my first car, it was pretty easy as I was sitting in the owner’s office and he gave me a great deal to begin with, and since I had insurance lined up, when we were done, I drove my first car home that first day.
My Face.

I don’t use makeup.
I’m a man, and from my point of view makeup is something for women or I guess for men who need to learn how to remove dark circles .
I have one of those faces that when I shave I look any where from 10 to 20 years younger. ( Depends on if the lights are On or OFF.)
No I do have a face that has not really shown my age. I must though fess up and tell the truth, I did wear makeup for awhile but that was only for work as a TV anchor up in Vegas. The station insisted that I did, as they felt it helped my “looks” on the new color cameras they had just purchased.
