Today’s Primary Election.
Looked at the ballot yesterday and today will in just a few minutes head off to the polls to cast my votes (for different candidates) in the Arizona Primary Election.
BOY AM I GLAD !
First of all, thanks to about a half a dozen who responded with emails about God Save Arizona. The thoughts and comments are all appreciated. Those of you who didn’t respond, and that’s not a problem, might be interested in knowing that I didn’t receive one negative comment.
Last night our house was hit by what the weathermen on the local TV call “Micro-bursts”.
All of a sudden the roof was pelted with heavy rain, the view out our windows was a heavy white gray and you could hardly see to the street or the back fence. Â The “Micro-burst” lasted maybe 5 or 6 minutes, then there was a steady rain fall.
The noise was loud. The pelting rain was heavy. The Wind was a howl and loud. And we could hear what sounded like flapping on our roof.
Being waterproof, I went out front to see if our roof was still there.
It was. But I found in our front yard what looked like asphalt from the roof. Not one piece, not two, but at least a dozen and they were across the street and two doors down.
And the street was filled with water speeding West to East toward the end of our block.
I went out back, ant there I found , the roof on our patio, ripped up. It wasn’t all gone, but enough that water was coming through the boards onto the patio itself. Chairs and other things near the outside wall of the house, normally dry, were soaking wet.
You get the picture, patio roof gone. I’m happy that I don’t have my antennas up, cause most likely knowing my “Luck” at least one of them would have thought it was an arrow and been found sticking out of Somebody’s roof a block away, or maybe through their front window.
Maybe I should build a basement and put the antennas down there.
It’s not that far off.
I just noticed that Halloween is not that far off. I think it was last year that Karen and I were invited to a Halloween Party, costumes and all at a friends house. No, it wasn’t at their house but at a local restaurant that had what I will call “Party Room”.
It was fun. Now that I think about it, it’s the first such Halloween Party I have been to.
We went as ourselves….Fat Boy and Gimp Girl. This year if we get invited again, I’m going to look for adult costumes.
Maybe I can find something that well make me look my age. Lord knows I don’t act it.
Still waiting for the New Floor.
Waiting for the new floor to be installed in our Kitchen, has kept me in the mood for redesigning everything in our house. Inside and Out.
While I have been happy with the blinds, (shades) but as I look around I would sure like to take a peak at discount shades to see if there is something I would like.
It wouldn’t hurt to look.

Things I should think about?
As I approach my birthday in August, should I be thinking about an abs workout ?
As I mentioned in my last post, I have trouble walking. I would guess that’s because I really do not take the time to get out of the house and do even a little walking. If I did on a daily basis, I’m sure my troubles in that area would come down.
I don’t have a beautiful male body, no matter how you look at it, not through rose colored glasses, not after several hours of drinking. Let’s be honest, I just don’t have a great bod.
But I do give great phone.
Should we add it to the house?
I have been thinking that with the temperatures returning as they do each summer to over 105, I need to have a way of exercising here in the house. A pull up bar would be a start.
I had been in the habit there for awhile of walking each morning down to the stop sign at the end of the block in an effort to keep me in “shape”, or at least some what of a shape. I did notice that the daily walks did help me with the simple thing of walking.
Since I gave it up, several months ago, walking is harder for me. So to have something in the house, where there is Air Conditioning that would help me to “work out”, would more than likely be a good thing.
Middle of July.
Found out last night that it’s going to be at least another 15 days before we get our kitchen back. Does anybody know of an rv for sale ?  My thought is, with an RV parked in our driveway, I’d at least be able to have a working kitchen to prepare the few meals that Karen allows me to fix.
I didn’t realize how much of our daily life centered around the kitchen. But it does, things that you don’t even think about. Being able to get cold water from the refrigerator. Wash of plated, glasses, forks, spoons, and the like. Having a dishwasher.
I MISS THEM!!!!!
I had forgotten about it.
Our patio has turned into an storage area while they are in the process of rebuilding our kitchen where we had found a water leak.
I went out this morning, and there to my surprise was a leather Briefcase . I vaguely remember putting it out there, but that was some time ago. It’s from the days when I lived and was working in Florida. Considering that I have not put it in a box or ever covered it up, it’s in great shape. It’s not that it’s been exposed to the occupational rain, it’s been under the Patio cover next to the back wall of the house with a large box sitting on top of it. So I guess you could say it has been Protected.
Same token, I had completely forgotten about it.
Door Frame Gone.
Early this morning there was a knock on our front door and it was a plumber to remove our Hot Water Heater so that New Dry Wall can be put in our kitchen.
As soon as he started tearing out the door frame, so that he could get the Hot Water Heater out, I thought this would be a good time to take an Orlando Vacation . Our Hot Water Heater is now resting in our living room.
I knew that it wouldn’t be long before they would be making even more noise cutting the dry wall to fit. I know, I can turn off my hearing aids, so the level would be at a minimum….but really a vacation sounds like fun…Rebuilding the kitchen or not.
